AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) – The Auburn Twine Duesenberg Auto Museum (ACD) has introduced it has been loaned a scarce 1948 Tucker from the Richard H. Driehaus Collection at Chicago Vintage Motor Carriage in Chicago. The 1948 Tucker and its relevant interpretive objects will be on display right up until August 15, 2022.

“Billed as ‘The Initially Fully New Car in Fifty Years’, the Tucker introduced about pleasure in style, technological improvements, and security standards,” ACD mentioned.

Former Auburn Auto Business designer Alex Tremulis made the style and design, ACD mentioned. It is powered by a four-cylinder Franklin O-335 helicopter motor that generates 166 horsepower. Tuckers used a re-produced Twine 810 vacuum-electric powered pre-selector 4-pace transmission. When new, the Tucker marketed for $2,450.

This Tucker on exhibit is the eighth a single built, bearing serial selection #1008. It was received in 1949 by Rudy Schroeder in a raffle, who compensated 35 cents for a ticket.

Up coming to the Tucker is a show motor, showcasing its exceptional style modified for automotive use. ACD stated two unique showroom banners and a duplicate of the bill and monthly bill of sale for Tucker #1008 are on screen.
